Cutting-Edge Research at the Forefront of Science
The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences consists of three curricula: Mathematics and Mathematical Science, Physics, and Applied Physics and Physico-Informatics. All of these have a long tradition, and are fundamentally important in the Sciences, and are actively being researched. It is generally difficult to reach the forefront of such traditional sciences. However, by transitioning to a new system, the Graduate School of Science and Technology at Keio University is building a novel and robust educational system that leads you to the forefront of advanced fundamental sciences. The skills acquired by mastering the fundamentals of science can be applied to various problems. Through in-depth studies on advanced research topics, you will gain a deeper understanding of the world. We welcome you to join us at the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences to experience the exciting studies.
Aspiring Researchers with a Broad Perspective
In modern society, there is strong demand for individuals with a deep foundation in fundamental sciences such as mathematics and physics, and their contributions are highly sought after. The new program aims to advance cutting-edge research on a global scale while fostering the next generation of researchers in the process. It is important for researchers to hone their expertise in their specialized field. In the Advanced Mathematical and Physical Sciences Program, in addition to lectures, students are offered opportunities to develop a broad range of research skills and expertise through a curriculum that includes diverse research projects and international research experiences. This approach not only enables students to deepen their expertise but also supports their growth by encouraging engagement with various fields.
International Research Experiences
Research in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences is conducted internationally, involving interaction and collaboration with foreign universities, research institutes, and overseas researchers. In addition to sharing information, we sometimes compete with each other, and at other times conduct joint research with our international partners. By gaining international research experience, students can enhance their logical thinking and problem-solving skills while also refining their communication skills with researchers from diverse backgrounds. Through such experiences, we aim to nurture global minded students who can play an active and leading role on the international stage.
